Florence Hill Barnes was born in Athens, Georgia and had an identical twin sister name Francis. Her parents were Luther Jean "Luke" Hill and Ruby Salenzy Woods. They had 5 children Ralph Groves Hill, Allen Luther Hill, Lafayette Eugene Hill, Florence and Francis. She had 4 half siblings by their stepmother Effie Louise Chandler: their names are Robert Walter Hill, Jerry Richard Hill, George Frank Hill and a sister I believe's name is Linda?? Florence married Johnie Vernon Barnes on January 17, 1944. They had 5 boys: Allen Vernon Barnes that died at birth, Franklin Lee Barnes, Larry Richard Barnes Sr., Paul David Barnes and Ronald Gene Barnes that died 2 days after birth. They moved to Detroit Michigan in 1950 and raised their boys because Johnie had a job at Chrysler's. Florence was diagnosed with breast cancer in the late 1980's which ended up metastasized to her brain and bones which took her life on August 15, 1988. She died in her home with her husband, Children and Grandchildren with her. She was a sweet woman that enjoyed southern cooking and family time. She was survived by her husband, three living son's and 7 grandchildren.
