Alfred Johnson - Funeral services for Alfred Johnson, long-time resident of Douglas County, were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Andrews Funeral Home at Castle Rock with the Rev. Alden B. Sears officiating. Mr. Johnson was 76. Burial was at Cedar Hill.

Mr. Johnson was born February 17, 1878, in Krabbleboda, Sweden, where as a boy, he worked with his father and grandfather in the lumber business.

In 1902 he left home and came to America where he found employment on several ranches in Douglas County, until in 1919 he moved to Castle Rock and went to work for the Douglas County Mercantile Company where he stayed for twenty years.

In 1921 he was joined in marriage with Ellen M. Anderson; and to this union were born two sons, George and Bill.

In 1939 he left the Mercantile Company and bought a small farm east of Castle Rock, where he farmed until 1948 when he moved back to Castle Rock where he lived until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen, two sons, William and George, five grandchildren, one brother, Algot; of Murray, Utah, and one brother and sister in Sweden
