The Dispatch, Lexington, North Carolina:
Hollan Dae Nance, 85, of Lexington Health Care, died early Monday morning, Sept. 11, 2000, at the health care facility. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Don Phillips. Burial will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery. Mr. Nance was born June 27, 1915, in Davidson County to James Marshall Nance and Merriett Davis Nance. He was a retired truck driver for Burlington Industries. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Elizabeth Wise Nance, on Dec. 23, 1994; four brothers, Bradley Nance, James Nance, Ed Nance and Sherman Nance; and three sisters, Beulah Blythe, Hettie Nance and Georgia Sink. Surviving are a son, Marshall Nance, and wife, Nancy, of Lexington; a daughter, Elizabeth Leonard, and husband, James R., of Lexington; two grandchildren, Lori Leonard Mann and husband, Eric, of Glen Allen, Va., and Amy Leonard of Lexington; a brother, Carl R. Nance of Clemmons; and his beloved dog, Sissie. The body will be at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, but the family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
