She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Arthur T. Achord; daughter, Sheila Achord Churchman and son-in-law Dave Kern Churchman; grandson Don Kern Churchman; and her brother, Marion Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally Achord Plattsmier and her husband Charles Plattsmier; son, Stephen Arthur Achord and his wife Nancy Achord; granddaughters, Kimberly Churchman Davis and her husband Stephen Davis, and Joanna Brice Plattsmier; grandsons, Zachary Achord and Christopher Plattsmier; and brothers, Leon Jones and Frank Jones.
Services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson, Louisiana with visitation from noon until 2:00 PM, with services and burial immediately following. Chaplain John Vess will officiate the services.
The family wishes to acknowledge with thanks and gratitude the staff of Nottingham Regional Rehab Center, Dr. Campo, the staff of Hospice In His Care and Dr. Kantrow, all of whom provided excellent care, love and support over many years.
