Dorothy Mae was born to Will Alpha and Peachie Mae Nutter Neal. She has four sisters and six brothers.
Dorothy married Edward B. "Jim" Rogers and had four children, three sons and one daughter.
Dorothy was a very loving person. She took her baby brother under her wing and helped raise him. Her oldest son once told me he thought he really was his brother, not his uncle.
She was always cooking or baking something. She loved to grow dahlias, once growing one almost dinner plate size.
She passed away of a heart attack at 52 years of age.
Her third child, Freddy, was laid to rest beside her in August 2001. Then in November 2001, her eldest son, Eddie, was laid to rest along with them. He had a heart attack also but, at the age of 44.
Dorothy was a Christian and worked with alot of children and other groups in her church.
