Richard Parker (1770-1838) son of Nathaniel Parker (1724-1811) and grandson of John Parker (1700-1760) belong to Parker yDNA Family Group #18. Richard Parker migrated with his father Nathaniel Parker from Hampshire County, Virginia (now Mineral County, W.V.) to Sumner County, Tennessee about 1791/1792.

Per Jay Guy Cisco's 1909 book 'Historic Sumner County, Tennessee' which was based upon 1904 letters found on page 482 in 'Parker in America' the three oldest sons (John, Thomas & Richard) of Nathaniel Parker married three 'Rogers' sisters. The letter found on page 482 goes on to say that John Parker, son of Nathaniel lived in Shelbyville, Kentucky. That John Parker died before June 1833 when his will was presented for probate in Shelby County, KY.; his 1st wife was Mary Rogers and his 2nd wife was Sarah Collier by whom he had all of his known children. Thomas Parker married Susana Rogers abt. 1792, and Richard Parker married Nancy Rogers abt. 1788.
