Ralph's mother is a distant cousin of his father, and the daughter of General Paul Jones Semmes.

Died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Memphis, TN, where he had been since at least the beginning of September. His body was brought home to Osceola, AR by train the same day. His funeral was held at his father, S S Semmes, house the next day.

Note: Ralph is the name used in the article about his death, and delivering his body home to Osceola. I assume it is a nickname for Raphael.

Gravesite Details

I'm not certain he's buried in Violet Cemetery, but that is where his father, several siblings and his wife are all buried.
