BEE -- Services for Ben Jewel Stallings, 93, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mission Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Larkin officiating. Interment will follow at Bee Cemetery.

Born Feb. 17, 1904, at Bee to James O. and Maggie Fuller Stallings, he died May 9, 1997, at Madill. He married Mattie Shasteen on Feb. 16, 1925, at Durant. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Stallings was a farmer-rancher who had lived in Johnston County all his life. He was a member of the Mission Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, C.T., Norman, and B.J., Windom, Texas; one daughter, Dealma Harris, Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Hulen, Los Alamos, N.M.; two sisters, Christine Anderson, Kansas, and Florence Butler, California; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Homer Don Stallings, Clarence Stallings, Clyde Stallings, Tommy Winkler, Tommy Shasteen and Darrell Stallings. Honorary bearers are Clifford Anderson, J.B. Thomas and J.W. Reed.

Services are under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
