Received written response from Ceres Memorial Park Cemetery on 5/13/20 that confirmed Samuel is buried here and they provided plot information. Samuel has a second tombstone at Palace Cemetery, Pulaski County, Missouri where his wife his buried, so that tombstone represents a cenotaph. On 05 Jan 2021, a sister-in-law confirmed a family member placed a tombstone near his wife at Palace Cemetery in Missouri.

Son of Samuel "Sam" Dyer (widower) and Doloros Bertha Lusk, who were married 20 March 1922 in Neelyville, Butler County, Missouri.

Samuel Dyer Adkins, 64, of Modesto died Tuesday at Doctors Medical Center.

Mr. Adkins was a native of Missouri. He lived in Modesto 37 years. He was a cannery worker for Hunt-Wesson Inc. for 25 years; he was a member of Teamsters union Local 748. He was a member of Church of Christ, Hughson. He was a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his children, Samuel David Atkins of Empire, Cassandre Garrity and Mary Jane Litzinger, both of Modesto; brother, Marcus Allen Jackson; sisters, Sharon Jackson and Tanis Lynn McLemore [Tanis is not listed in his mother's or step-father's obituary, so perhaps she wasn't actually a sister, but someone he considered a sister}; and eight grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Colonial Chapel of Granklin & Downs. Burial will follow at Ceres Memorial Park, Ceres. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Friday at the chapel.
