Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Wade and Huldah (Dillon) Wade. Sarah was married four times (the first and fourth time to Charles E. Butler). Her first husband was Charles E. Butler (1844-1922). Charles and Sarah were married on November 7, 1867 in Champaign County, Ohio. Sarah had three children with Charles including: French O. Butler, Cluett Peter Butler and William E. Butler. Sometime prior to 1875, Charles left his wife and children and moved to California under the name "Henry Randolph" which was his alias in the Indiana Infantry in the Civil War. Charles was found in 1911 living in the Old Soldiers Home in Los Angeles, California by his half brother. (Apparently, Charles came back home to Ohio and remarried Sarah as they were living together on the census in 1920). Sarah's second husband was David Logan (1814-1892). She was David's second wife. David and Sarah were married on February 26, 1875 in Logan County, Ohio and she had three children with him including: Clifton H., Alta May and Harry A. Logan. After David died, Sarah married Michael Washington "Washington" Holverstott (1853-1911) on December 8, 1894 in Marysville, Union, Ohio. Sarah was Washington's second wife.
