David came to Indian Territory during the Choctaw Removal from Mississippi over the Trail of Tears.

David was the Grandson of Choctaw CHief David Folsom & Rhoda Nail Folsom.

David was the son of Choctaw Chief George W. Harkins & Lily Folsom Harkins.

David was enlisted in the 1st Regiment of the Choctaw Mounted Rifles, CSA during the Civil War, with the rank LTC.

David was a member of the Choctaw Senate and a Choctaw Represenative to Washington DC for Choctaw Tribal matters.

The cemetery has been damaged by person unknown. I went there as a boy and the stones were there. Only the marker of Lafayette Harkins remains when I was last there. I pray David's and the other family members remains are intact there.
