Rev. James Edward “Jimmy” Chrisman, 74, of Berea, died on April 23, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. He was born on August 28, 1943 in Middletown, OH, and was the son of the late George Carr and Lucy Chrisman. Jimmy was a devout Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him as a Baptist Minister for 56 years and was a commissioned Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Chrisman; two children: Rev. Dr. David (Rebecca) Chrisman, Melissa (Jeffrey) Abrams; two stepchildren: Hugh (Beth) Williams and Dana (Nathan) Stocke; two brothers: Bobby (Sue) Chrisman and Freddy Chrisman; and one sister: Deborah (Paul) Bicknell; nine grandchildren: Zachary (Courtney) Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Samuel Chrisman, Amanda Abrams, Megan Abrams, Jesse Abrams, Elisabeth Ann Harrington, Aaron and Andrew Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Planck, and one sister-in-law Darlene (Freddy) Chrisman.
Visitation will be 4-9 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2018 and the Funeral Service is noon Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Davis & Powell Funeral Home in Berea, KY with Rev. Dr. David Chrisman and Rev. Randy Chrisman officiating. Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens in Richmond, KY. Pallbearers will be Neal Broadus, Dana Anglin, Bobby Chrisman, Tim Chrisman, Jeff Abrams, and Matt Phillips.
