Preston Phillip Pregler, Jr., 41, died unexpectedly at 4:07 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

He was born in Alton, Illinois on May 26, 1976, and was one of three children born to Preston Phillip and Melba Jo (Daves) Pregler.

Preston attended Jerseyville schools, and was a member of the Jersey Community High School Class of 1995.

Throughout his adult life, Preston held various occupations. He worked with his stepfather, Joe Bick, in the oil refineries, where he was able to travel throughout the country.

After that he and his wife, relocated to Dickinson, North Dakota, where he was head of maintenance for the Lamont Companies. He was currently traveling the country installing for Redbox.

Preston had a passion for Nascar, and held Jeff Gordon in high esteem. Another important individual whom Preston held in high regard was his Uncle Jerry Henderson, and the two enjoyed their time and antics together.

He married Cherie Lynn Sellers on Oct. 31, 2008 at the Greene County Courthouse in Carrollton, and gained a daughter, Sarah Sellers, whom he was especially proud of.

Also surviving are his mother, Melba Jo Bick of Mt. Olive; his father and his wife, Phillip and Janet Pregler of Jerseyville; a sister, Penny Clark of Mt. Olive; a brother, Paul Pregler of Kane; his grandmother, Mildred Pregler of Jerseyville; 2 nieces, BrittanyPregler and Jazmine Pregler; 3 nephews, Bryan Retherford, Wyatt Clark and Mason Clark; a great niece and nephew,Bryson Retherford and Graisyn Plogger; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his step father, Joseph Bick; and his grandparents, Preston Peary Pregler and Joe and Pearl Daves.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The Rev. Robert McAdams will officiate.

He will be laid to rest in the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
