He married Stella Minnie Ostrom (1867-1937)in Danbury, Iowa.
Their Children: 1.Glen (b. 1893 died young...after 1900?), 2.Merle Dunn (married Clyde,had 2 sons: Leslie who died when 2 weeks old & Marshall), 3.Porter G.(1896-1976) He married Carrie), 4. Leslie E. Jr.(married Helen,had a son named Leslie E.III & daughter Greta) 5. Lydia Burnett Padretti McGill, 6. Emma Higgins (had daughter Peggy Lucille), & 7. Ray(married Olena had children Ray, Bill & Bette Sue)
The Porter Sheldon family had lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, S. Dakota(where they ran a hotel), Texas and Arkansas. Many members of the Sheldon family are buried in Electra,TX
According to Etta Eakin Roberts, her uncle Leslie Sheldon and his wife Stella lived in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and they had 8 children.(I only have the names of 7) Etta said she corresponded with the oldest child Merle. Even though Leslie Sheldon is buried in Electra, TX, he actually died in Burbank, California where he was visiting his daughter Mrs. Paul (Lydia) McGill.
Peggy Hannawell granddaughter of Leslie Sheldon told me of a letter that her grandfather had written while he was in Los Angeles,CA in 1945. He basically traced the places where he had lived in the course of his life...Here is a summary of his travels:

L.E. SHELDON FUNERAL SERVICE CONDUCTED TUES.
Rev. E.H. Coburn, assistant pastor of First Methodist Church, officiated at funeral services conducted Tuesday for L.E. Sheldon, 88, who died Saturday afternoon in Burbank, California where he was visiting in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul R. McGill. The body arrived in Electra Tuesday morning, and services were conducted from the James B. Totten Funeral chapel that afternoon at 3 o'clock.
Pallbearers were Wm. Hardgroves, Perno Bryant, Ray Ferguson, E.E. Scott, Farmer Ray, Doc Smith, A.F. Fisher and Claude Conyers.
Burial was in the Old Electra Cemetery.
