Catherine M. Davis, 82, formerly of Lafayette, passed away at 8:31 p.m. Friday April 20, 2018, in Jefferson City, TN.

Born on June 26, 1935 in Saline City, IN, she was the daughter of the late Irwin Eastmore Hopkins and Anna Laurie Hopkins. She married William Davis on May 8, 1961 in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2013.

Catherine worked in the cafeteria at Durgan Elementary School for 24 years. She is still referred as “Grandma” by former students. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed puzzle books and gardening. She loved kids and working with small children, and also loved auctions and animals.

Surviving are her children: Susan Freeman of Eddyville, KY, Terry Davis (wife: Donna) of Jefferson City, TN, Patricia Hensen of Lafayette, and William Davis Jr. of San Antonio, TX; siblings: Sandy Loveless, Don Baker, Wilma Clapp, and Robert Clingerman, all of Lafayette; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
