Began his teaching career at the Miro School in New Orleans in 1916.
Also, taught at McDonogh High School#35
Served as principal of John W Hoffman Elementary School 1926 - 1942
Served as first principal of Booker T Washington High School 1942 - 1958
Following his retirement from the school system in 1958, Mr Crocker accepted a position at Dillard University as Assistant Professor of education and acting dean of students in 1965.
