This beautiful evening as the sun sinks low in the golden west, my memory wonders back to a short time ago, when God called from her earthly home dear grandma, Mrs. Aaron Ketterman. She had been sick for some years, but she bore her suffering patiently, yet in His word Jesus says, "Ye shall suffer many things for my sake, but he that endureth unto the end the soul shall be saved". Grandma tried to live a christian life. She united with the U.B. church in early girlhood to which she remained loyal until after her marriage, then she united with the Lutheran church and was consistent member until her death.
She leaves to mourn her loss one brother, two sons, two daughters, seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Her husband, one son and one daughter preceded her to the grave some years ago.
Before her marriage she was Caroline Avery, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Thomas Avery, of Dovesville, Va, and youngest of eighteen children. I some times think how happy Grandma must have been to go with so many of her loved ones over there to greet her coming. Caroline Virginia Avery Ketterman, was born
September 28, 1842, and died May 18, 1921, age 75 years, 7 months, 21 days. While we are sad it is no great comfort that if we try to live pure and loving lives we shall meet her in that beautiful home where Jesus is our King. GRAND DAUGHTER
Couresty of the Grant County Press and Grant County Library.

Caroline died in Weston Hospital of gangrene.

In 1910 it says she's had 6 children and 5 are living.

Susan Etta 1868, Ida P 1869, Sallie 1869, Mary S 1870, Charles E. 1871, James 1873, Newton 1874, Roxanna 1877
These children come up with them in the 1870 & 1880 census.
