Word came Saturday of the death of Mrs. G. A. Lyon [July 5, 1940] in the Curtis hotel where she had been residing during the latter part of the winter. Mrs. Lyons had always kept her home, the brick structure on North Seven street, in livable condition but has resided there but little since the death of her husband. Her daughter, Virginia, has been in various places and Mrs. Lyon has spent some time with her.

Death came very suddenly from a severe heart attack. Friends here were notified and the daughter, who was in New York started for Minneapolis at once.

The funeral services were held in Hudson, Wis., at the home of a sister. Interment was made in the cemetery at Eau Clair, Wis. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, July 11, 1940)

The obit says she died in the Curtis Hotel but her death certificate say her residence was the hotel but she died in in Savage in Scott County.
