"Mrs. Jane Tomberlin died at her home in Mound Valley Monday, October 22, aged 62 years. The deceased had been bed-ridden since July. Her suffering had been great, yet she was always patient and greeted all who came her way with a smile and never grumbled at her lot, but said if it was her time she was ready and willing to go. The last four weeks of her life were weeks of intense suffering. Death was due to a complication of diseases. She leaves her husband and three sons, John, Del, and Charles, to mourn her loss. All were at her bedside when the summons came. Funeral services were held Tuesday and burial made at the Creighton Cemetery. E. M. Houston, the undertaker at this place, had charge of the burial."

William Tomberlin bio indicates his 2nd marriage was to Susan Jane Shearer. We know that Susan Jane (maiden: Page) married William Tomberlin in 1884, when she would have been abt. 29Y. She is in 1880 census, age 25/single in home of her widowed mother and several siblings.
While she may have had an earlier marriage to a Mr. Shearer, no record found to support the marriage. Susan's sister, Ida Lavina, married Harry Shearer in 1889.
