Tony was born on April 2, 1928 in Massena the son of Haratoon and Ojean (Sylvarian) Almasian. Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, having served during the Korean Conflict, having achieved the rank of Corporal. He married Rose M. Malkasian on November 23, 1952 in Whitinsville, MA. He then attended and graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA in 1956. He and his wife moved to Massena early in their marriage, where Tony worked at ALCOA and retired after 38 years of service in the procurement department. Tony was a member of the 25 Year Club at ALCOA, St. John’s Episcopal Church, and also a Director and member of the Armenian Community Center who also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Tony is survived by his children, Bryan A and Kendall of Toano, VA; Laura Marlow of Plattsburgh, NY; Jeffrey A. and Rosanne of Sidney, NY, Seven grandchildren, Holly, Kim Josh, Bryan, Sasha, and Anto and Ashley Rose along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years on June 22, 2006 and a sister Helen Hagopain, and brothers; Jack, Mike, and Varoujan. Memorial contributions may be shared with a charity of one’s choice.
