Wallace Chapman, known as "Chappie," was a Police Officer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He died in the line of duty at age 41. Officer Chapman was arresting a man, which two women had said was assaulting them. While at a call box at 8th Street and Poplar Street, the suspect knocked Officer Chapman down, took his service revolver and shot him repeatedly. The suspect, David Allen Jr. then 21, was arrested later, convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Officer Chapman was a WWII veteran and had served with the agency for 3 years. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
