Word reached us Sunday night of the death of Mrs. Otto Kempcke of Lyons, who had been a patient sufferer in a Sioux City hospital for seven weeks. Mrs. Kempcke was born and reared to womanhood at Kennard. She was united in marriage to Otto Kempcke about thirty years ago.

To this union six children were born who, together with the husband and father, are left to mourn her departure. She also leaves to mourn her loss three sisters: Mrs. George Robertson, Mrs. Jap Rosenbaum and Miss Lena Bates, and three brothers: Thomas W., Frank and William Charles Bates. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Lyons on Wednesday afternoon, with interment at the Lyons cemetery.
