FEBRUARY 14, 1947 ~ APRIL 15, 2018 (AGE 71)
Mrs. Ruby Anne Batte Rayner, age 71 and a resident of Brandon passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Tam Maddox will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Smith County under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the funeral home.
Ruby Anne Rayner was born February 14, 1947 to her parents: Jack and Irene Jordan Batte.
She was a native of Smith County and had been a resident of Rankin County for the past 30 years.
She was a retired project coordinator for the State of Mississippi, and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. A simple woman, Ruby Anne will be remembered for her humorous wit, generous spirit, and her straightforwardness. A favorite past time was crafting, in particular, beading, and making costume jewelry.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Jack and Irene Batte.
Survivors include
one son: Allen (Irene) Rayner;
one granddaughter: Katrena (Glenn) Bryant;
one great-granddaughter: Paislee Bryant, all of the Lorena Community;
four brothers: Bennie (Virginia) Batte, Bill (Pat) Batte, Frank (Pam) Batte, and Larry (Judy) Batte, all of Forest; and
a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Bryant, Wayne Batte, Randy Batte, Timmy Batte, Brandin Batte, and Scott Purcell.
