William Jasper "Jap" Skinner, 91, of Summerville, Georgia, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at his residence. Born March 7, 1916 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Harvey Roscoe and Caroline (Hash) Skinner. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United Sates Army and was retired from NWSC Crane. Survivors include: his wife, Geneva (Shireman) Skinner of Summerville, Georgia; two sons, Darrell Skinner of Summerville and Richard Skinner of Bloomfield; three daughters, Karen Stivers of Summerville, Peggy Allen of Bloomfield, and Judy Bruce of Bloomington; five brothers, Marion Skinner of Boston, Mile Skinner and Sharron Skinner of Bloomfield, Vernon Skinner of LaFontaine, and Shannon Skinner of Indianapolis; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great, grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Wilma Bernice Skinner, two sisters, Geneva Clark and Wilma Owen, and four brothers, Glenn, Delmar, George, and Wilbur Skinner. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday April 8, 2007 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Sam Hill officiating. Burial will be in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
