Charles Aloysius Abbick Sr, 83 years old, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 1998 at Bethany Medical Center. He was a lifelong Kansas City, Kansas, resident. Mr. Abbick worked for the Santa Fe Railway for 47 years, retiring in 1970 as a foreman and apprentice instructor. Mr. Abbick had worked for the Schutte Lumber Company from 1970 to 1980. He was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas.

Surviving were three sons, Charles Aloysius Abbick Jr. of Kanas City, John Francis Abbick of Kansas City, Kan., and Marion G. Abbick of Junction City, Kansas; two daughters, Angela Jost of Buffalo, New York, and Anna Marie Abbick of Kansas City, Kan.; four sisters, Josephine Simmons of Kansas City, Sister M. Philomena Abbick of Danville, Penn., Sister Rose Mary Abbick of Merrillville, Ind., and Veronica Ann Deck of West Hartford, Conn.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends called at the Butler Chapel in Kansas City, Kansas, where the Rosary was prayed later that night. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
