Jessie Frances Burke Braddock, 82, of Independence passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at her residence with her loving family and friends by her side.
She was born December 14, 1935, in Newburg, daughter of the late Gilbert Burke and Blanche Litton Burke McNair. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Roy Braddock on February 19, 1998.
Jessie worked for Kinney Shoes from 1971 until it closed. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, working in her flowers and garden, loved life and being with people. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church. She liked to listen to gospel and country music and going to see country music play live.
Jessie is survived by three sons, Joseph Braddock and wife Sheila of Independence, John Braddock and wife Liz of Morgantown, David Braddock and wife Sherry of Morgantown; three daughters, Edith Collins Wright and husband Paul of Independence, Janet Marsh and husband Gary of Independence, and Barbara Mahaffey and husband Tim of Staunton, Va.; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jessie was preceded in death by one daughter, Wilma Susie Braddock; four brothers, Fred, Floyd, Frank and Jacob Burke; three grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Carla Braddock.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Stottlemeyer officiating. Interment will follow at Bock Cemetery, Independence.
