Mrs. Babcock was a pianist and also, when young, was a dance student of Irene Castle.
She was a graduate of Ithaca High School, Class of 1929.
She married Monroe C. Babcock in 1933 and together they began a poultry hatchery business.
Mrs. Babcock was a member of the Ulysses Historical Society, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Sapsucker Woods, the Ithaca Country Club and the Royal Poinciana Country Club of Naples, Florida.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Monroe Babcock, Naples, Florida; her daughter, Carolyn van Leer, Freeville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one niece. She was predeceased by her parents; her late husband, Monroe Babcock (d. 1992); her brother, the late Carl Wilbur Hollister (d. 1960).
Funeral services will be held in the E.C. Wagner Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
