Leland Edmund Anderson, age 73, died today at Indian Hills Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer, moving to Chillicothe 10 years ago from Ludlow.
Born Nov. 24, 1912 in Ludlow, he was a son of Charles Anderson and Ena Clark Anderson Shields. He attended school in Ludlow and was a member of the Ludlow United Methodist Church. On May 14, 1936, he married Verna McKown in Chillicothe.
Surviving are his wife, Verna, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Fred (Era) Shields, age 100, of Ludlow; two sons, Barry N. Anderson of Bluford, Ill., and Buddy Anderson of Ludlow; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ludlow Community Church. Burial will be in the Monroe Cemetery at Ludlow." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, June 30, 1986
