Karen Broderick (nee Holmberg), 54, passed away November 12, 2013 at the Meridian Hospice in Brick. Karen was born in Jersey City and grew up on Broadway in the Marion Section. She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel grade school and St. Anthony's High School before settling in Toms River, NJ. She worked as a lunch aide for the Toms River School District for many years. Karen was an avid dolphin lover and enjoyed her trips to Seaworld. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Karen is survived by her husband Neil, children, Alison and her husband Bret, Neil and his partner Laura, Heather, and Amanda and her partner Chris, grandchildren, Kelsey, Hailey and Neil, and brother, James Holmberg. Friends may call Friday, November 15, 2013 from 2-8 pm at the D'Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 4PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
