Everett E. Burke, 76, died at his home here Saturday after a long illness. He was born at Steuben, Jan. 5, 1890, son of Frederick and Martha Flaherty Burke. He had worked at lumbering, road construction and farming. He is survived by his widow, Florence May Burke; three sons, Millard of Eliot, Malcolm of Pembroke and James of Lubec; four daughters, Mrs. Florence Gachetti and Mrs. Grace Maston, both of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Marion Marsh of Eastport and Mrs. Julia Fenderson of Marion; 34 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Pettigrew of Portland and Mrs. Mildred Richards of Bangor; one brother, Lester, of New York; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the residence with the Rev. Roland Chaffee of the Methodist Church in Eastport officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Dennysville.
