Aunt Orie, who was 98 years old, and a life-long resident of Houston County, a member of the Smith Grove Church of Christ, and a beloved friend and family member. Aunt Orie was a career educator who worked in Lovelady, Houston, and Crockett school districts as an elementary and special education teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Cora Roberts; both spouses, Willie Donald Lane and Archie Bass, Sr.; sisters, Viola Roberts and Agnes Alexander; brothers, Thomas B., Benny and Ednor D. Roberts
Services were held Saturday,March 24, 2018, at the Smith Grove Church of Christ; interment followed in the Fodice Cemetery.
Memories by Barbara Ann Wooten. I was so blessed to have visited with Auntie Orie, just hours before she passed. Her mind was still very young and very wise. She was feeling good, and we had a lovely visit. I loved her as much as she loved me.
