He was born January 21, 1926 in Guy, Arkansas to Isaac Earl and Virdie Griffith Hughes.
He was a retired Health Inspector for the State of Arkansas, a veteran of the U.S. Army and he was a member of Park Hill Church of Christ in Fort Smith.
He is survived by one daughter, Janice and husband Dennis Dorsey of Broken Arrow, OK.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dora Hughes and son Kent Hughes.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
