Theda Hayes Renner, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 11, 2018, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born May 28, 1932 in White Pine, Tennessee, but lived the majority of her life in Newport. She was a joyful person who was known for her infectious smile. Theda was loved by everyone she met. She gave her heart to God at a young age and was founding member of Bridgeport Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Renner, son, Bobby Renner, parents, Charlie and Ida Hayes; three brothers, and four sisters.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Lonnie Jones, Anita and Jimmy Gorrell, son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Rose Renner; grandchildren, Brad and Jacqulyn Jones, Seth Jones, Eric and Shelley Gorrell, Josh and Crystal Gorrell; five great-grandchildren; brother, Johnnie Hayes; sister, Sandra Richie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon -2:00 pm Saturday, April 14, 2018 with funeral services following at 2:00 pm, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Tennova Convalescent Center and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, for the love and excellent care they gave to our precious mother.
