OBITUARY
Leotta O. Atkins, age 94, of Huntingburg, passed away at 9:30 p.m., on Friday, July 31, 2020, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

She was born May 9, 1926, in Dubois County, near Birdseye, to Joseph S. and Anna (Brady) Ingle; and was united in marriage to Noah “Scott” Atkins in September of 1942. Leotta loved spending time with her family (especially spoiling her babies) and visiting or talking by phone with a large scattered group of nieces and nephews as well. She loved bowling with friends and playing Bingo. Leotta also liked to gamble at Indiana casinos and play the Lottery.

Leotta was preceded in death by her spouse, Scott Atkins, in 1978; one son, Larry G. Atkins, in 2007; her parents; and seven siblings, Viola (Roy) Eckert, John (Louise) Choat, Albert Choat, Edna (Clay) Spencer/Norman, Ezra (Doris) Eckert, Violet (Edward) Dillard and Joseph Ingle.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna (Dennis) Stanton of Loogootee, one brother, Junis (Ida) Ingle of Camby; (4) grandchildren, Denny (Jessica) Stanton, Sarah (Jerod) Bechtel, Jen (Adam) Schutte and Michael (Vanessa) Stanton; by (3) great-grandchildren, (4) step great-grandchildren and (1) step great-great-grandson.

Visitation for Leotta O. Atkins will be held at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Friday, August 7, 2020. Burial with a graveside service will immediately follow at Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye, Indiana. Rev. Albert Madden will officiate at the graveside service. The family requests that visitors follow all recommendations and appropriate guidelines related to the coronavirus/covid-19 pandemic while attending the visitation and graveside service.
