Vernon Applegate, 69, former bottle blower at the Skillen-Gooden Glass Co. at Yorktown and retired employe of Chevrolet-Muncie, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon at his Yorktown home.
Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Yorktown Christian Church. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richman and Prillaman Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday and at the church an hour before services.
He was born in Rush County, the son of Jonathan and Nancy Applegate, but lived most of his life in Yorktown. Mr. Applegate was a member of the Mount Pleasant Brotherhood and the Yorktown Christian Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Wanda Applegate, at home; a brother, Cliff Applegate, Yorktown; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Nixon, Topeka, Kan., and several nieces and nephews.
