Mrs. Twila Elizabeth Agnew Sions, 95, formerly of Antioch, WV. died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Hampshire Center in Romney, WV.

Mrs. Sions, born in Rada, WV; was the daughter of the late Daniel William Agnew and Bessie Angeline Roberts Agnew and the widow of Haven O. Sion who died of Aug. 23, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Samuel Umstot; grandson, Gregory Umstot; a sister, Elva Rogers and brother, William Agnew.

She was a Christian by faith in Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Antioch United Methodist Church where she served as a lay speaker. In 1946, she worked with the youth at the Markwood United Methodist Church and also attended the Burlington United Methodist Church and the Grace United Methodist Church while living in Keyser. She served as President of the Burlington P.T.A., President of the Headsville Homemakers (CEOS), President of the Mineral County Farm Women and was Chairman of the republican Women's Club where she chaired the first Lincoln Day Dinner in the old Moose Home in Keyser. She was a member of Alkire Chapter #10, Order of the eastern Star, Keyser where she served as Worthy Matron in 1968-69, Daughters of the Nile, Cumberland, MD. and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She also was a licensed real estate agent and appraiser in the 1970's.

Most of all, she was a homemaker who loved her family, husband, enjoyed the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and times they all spent together.

She is survived by two daughters, Shelby Raines and husband Dewayne of Cross Junction, VA; and Joyce Holroyd and husband Thomas of Claremont, FL; a son, Haven o. Sions II and wife Jackie of Morgantown, WV; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Pastor Andrew Agnew and Pastor Daniel Agnew both of Burlington; a sister, Althea Landes of New Creek and many nieces and nephews.

Sions, II and wife Jackie of Morgantown, WV; two brothers, Pastor Andrew Agnew of Burlington and Pastor Daniel Agnew of Burlington; one sister, Althea Landes of New Creek; eight grandchildren, Mark Raines and wife Carolyn, Ronald Raines and wife Vickie, Ann Bussey and husband Dan, Megan Borrelli and husband Perry, Benjamin Sions, Michael Sions, Debbie Mackiewicz and husband Ed and Tom Holroyd, Jr. and wife Shelly; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gwen Wolford officiating.

Interment will be in the Thrush Cemetery, Antioch, WV.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Antioch United Methodist Church, 20121 Knobley Road, New Creek, WV 26743.
