"A memorial service was conducted today (Wednesday) at the Lock Springs Presbyterian Church for Margaret Helen [sic] Ahlstedt, a Meadville resident. Mrs. Ahlstedt, 60, died Monday, June 18, 1990, at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.

She and her husband John, who survives of the home, operated a general store in Lock Springs for eight years before moving to Meadville four years ago. She was born April 22, 1930 in Farmington, Ia., to Bill and Anna Mae Salyers. Her mother survives of Meadville. On Dec. 5, 1968, she was married to John Ahlstedt in Oquawka, Ill.

Also surviving are a son, Donald Lee Shultz of Meadville; two daughters, Deborah Calhoun of Mount Pleasant, Ia., and Danita Chance of Harrison, Ark.; a stepson, John David Ahlstedt of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Margaret Ray-ann Ahlstedt of Cary, NC; two sisters, Lula Mae Wilde of Roseville, Ill., and Betty Oaks of Seward, Neb.; a brother, Ralph Salyers of Biggsville, Ill.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Her father preceded her in death.

The memorial service was conducted by the Rev. Rex Leppin. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 21, at 1 p.m. at Corman Funeral Home in Roseville. Burial will be in the Biggsville Cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, June 20, 1990
