"Otto Ahlfors Sr., age 70, of 112 Adams avenue, passed away on Thursday, April 27th. Funeral services were held Monday, May 1st at 2 o'clock at the FInnish Concordia Lutheran church with Rev. M. R. Ruohoniemi officiating and interment was in the Eveleth cemetery. The deceased was born in Finland on February 12, 1874 and had been a resident of Eveleth for the past 42 years. He had been engaged in the dairy and farm business for 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary, two sons, Otto Ahlfors Jr., Eveleth and George with the armed forces serving overseas; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Pekkola, Ely and Mrs. Lillian Widmeyer of Colville, Washington; five grandchildren, Mrs. Margaret Fisher, Duluth, Richard Ahlfors, Eveleth, James, Louise, and Lawrence Widmeyer, all of Colville, Washington; one brother, Andrew Ahlfors of Eveleth and four sisters and two brothers in Finland."
