Mr. Silas McClelland,85, passed from this life on Sunday, 01 August 1875. Mr. McClelland married Miss Penelope Anderson, Bulloch County, Georgia, on 29 October 1818. Mrs. McClelland was born about 1800. Joseph and Sarah Anderson were her parents.

Silas Lane McClelland, Sr. First elected Coroner of Imperial Polk County, Florida.
He is the ONLY veteran of the War of 1812 buried in Polk County, Florida.
He served in the 2nd & 3rd Seminole Wars AND at age 60, served in the CSA.
