FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOHN MOLLOY FRIDAY AFTERNOON
Funeral services for John Shelby Molloy, aged 45 years, painter, native of Navarro county, commander of the local post of Disabled Veterans, who died at his home two miles north of Corsicana Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock following an illness of an hour, were held Friday afternoon at 5 o’clock from the residence of a sister, Mrs. Julian Ransom, 1501 West Collin street. Interment was made in Oakwood cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. P. Martin Baker, pastor of the Third Avenue Presbyterian church of which he was a member.
Mr. Molloy was a veteran of the World War, having served in the 359 infantry and having participated in some of the most important battles in which American forces participated. He was wounded during the war.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Alice Molloy; five sisters, Mrs. Julian Ransom, Mrs. Joe Wilson, Mrs. Alyn Lang, Miss Allie Molloy and Miss Roche Molloy; three brothers, Henry, Richard and L. C. Molloy, all of Corsicana; an aunt, Mrs. J. Doak Roberts, Dallas, and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Ransom, Pick Hayes. Jim Redden, Buddie Wiggins, Thomas Blissett and Luther York.
The funeral was directed by the Sutherland McCammon Funeral Home.
Singers were Mrs. Ralph Stell, Mrs. Harry Blanding, Edgar Metcalf and Chris L. Knox.
