"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 35, No 48, p 3, Nov. 27, 1879.

In Ashland, Dodge Co., Minn., Nov. 5th, 1879, of apoplexy, Mrs. Harriet M. Ellis, wife of John Ellis, in the 51st year of her age. Sister Ellis had been a woman of unusual activity, and found it hard to lay by the burdens of life yet, during the last few weeks, she realized that her change was near, and she was willing and waiting to go. She had already had two paralytic strokes, and was resting by the way, at the house of her son, Eugene Ellis, where, on the afternoon of Nov. 5th, the final stroke came, of which she died in the evening. In the absence of her pastor, the burial services were conducted by Dea. N. M. Burdick, and the funeral sermon was preached at the Seventh-day Baptist Church in Dodge Centre, of which she was a member, by her pastor, on Sabbath, Nov. 15th, from Rev. 21: 7: "He that overcometh shall inherit all things."
