Dr. William Miller Hinton, Jr. was the son of William Miller Hinton, Sr. and Eddie Chiles Spears. He was originally named William Spears Hinton but Spears was altered to Miller at sometime.

He never knew his father. His parents married on Wednesday evening, April 25th, 1906 at half past eight o'clock St Peter's Church, Paris, Kentucky. 13 Apr 1906 issue of the Bourbon News (Paris, KY). His father died on 24 Dec 1908 and his obit says he was "survived by his wife, formerly Miss Edie Spears, and an infant son Wm. Spears (sic) Hinton." It was published in the Bourbon News (Paris, KY) dated 29 Dec 1908 (on his father's site). She was then pregnant with unborn son Noah, born in 10 Mar 1909.

He first appeared on the 1910 Paris Ward 2, Bourbon Co., KY census, I found widow Georgie C Spears, 61, had 3 kids, all living; son or daughters: John K Spears, 29; Eva Spears, 27; (daughter) widow Eddie S Henten (sic), 31; grandsons: WILLIAM S Henten (sic), 3 and Neva S Henten (sic), 1 1/12; plus servant Sarah Brethman, 16, all Kentucky born. On 2 Mar 1917, it was published that "Mrs. Eddie Spear (sic) Hinton was appointed guardian of her two children William and Noah Spears Hinton, infants under 14 years of age, and heirs of the late Wm M. Hinton, Jr. Mrs. Hinton gave bond with Mr. John M. Brennan as surety." The Bourbon News, Paris, Kentucky, dated 2 Mar 1917.

On the 1920 Paris Ward, Bourbon Co., KY census, I found widow Georgia Spears, 60; widowed daughter Eddie Spears Hinton, 40; grandsons: WILLIAM Hinton, 12 and Noa (sic) Spears Hinton, 10, all Kentucky born. They lived at 243 Mt Airy Avenue OR Houston Avenue.

On 22 Dec 1934, Wm Miller Hinton, 27, son of Wm M Hinton and Eddie Chiles Spears, married Mary Moore Harper, 26, daughter of Chas Emmett Harper and Lillian Palmer Montgomery, in Lex, VA (Rockbridge Co., VA Marriages, FS).

His widowed mother "Eddie Spears Hinton," was last on the 1940 Paris, Bourbon, KY census, age 61, KY born. She lived next to Albert and Nancy Hinton, 70 and 62. They resided at 316 and 320 Vine Street. His mother's 1947 obit: Mrs. Eddie Hinton. Paris-(AP)-Mrs. Eddie Spears Hinton, widow of William Miller Hinton, died in a hospital here today. Survivors include two sons, Noah Spears Hinton, Ashland, and Dr. William Miller Hinton, Jr., Lexington, Va. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow. 17 Jan 1947, published in the Cincinnati Enquirer (Cincinnati, OH).

1979: Dr. WILLIAM Miller Hinton (Jr.) was born 19 Mar 1907 in Kentucky, to parents William M Hinton and Eddie Chiles Spears. He was the widower of Mary Moore Harper Hinton. On 1 Jan 1979, he died at Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington, VA. His son William was the informant. VA Cert. of Death #79-000315.
