Rolland "Duane" Bliss, of Bloomington, MN was 86 years of age when he died peacefully on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 with his family by his side at Wealshire of Bloomington where he received astounding care from the attentive, caring staff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Hannah Bliss; two brothers: Arthur “Bud” Bliss and Roger Bliss; and a nephew: Mike Bliss.

June 25, 1951, Duane enlisted in the United States Navy serving during Korea and later in the Navy Reserves. He attained an accounting degree from St. Cloud State.

September 11, 1954, Duane married Evonne Bjorklund in Minneapolis. They lived in California for a short time before moving back to Minnesota where they had lived in Minneapolis, St. Cloud, and Elmo Park before settling in Bloomington.

Duane had worked for Spartan and Frank’s Refrigeration prior to his career at Control Data/Ceridian. He loved fishing, hunting, football, and his many trips to Las Vegas. Duane especially loved spending time with his family and friends while enjoying cabin life at Big Pine Lake in Aitkin County.

He will be remembered for being a simple man whom was humble, kind, generous yet loved to tease and be a jokester.
