Adeline L. Stoiber, 87, of Dorchester, passed away surrounded by her family at the Colonial Center in Colby on Sunday, March 25, 2018 under the care of St. Croix Hospice. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester with Rev. Timothy L. Oudenhoven officiating. Burial followed at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Her family received relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The honor of pallbearers belonged to Jonathon Stoiber, Courtney Faude, Rudy Zoellick, Zach Zoellick, Deonte Gajewski and Reggie Vanlue. The honorary pallbearers were Dale Danen and David Danen.
Adeline was born on Feb. 13, 1931, in Athens, the daughter of Elmer and Rose (Weiler) Brushaber. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Stoiber on Sept. 26, 1951, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. After their marriage, Bob and Adeline farmed for a period of time. Sadly, Bob passed away on May 19, 2012. Adelined worked at Krueger’s Supermarket in Dorchester for many years, as a janitor at St. Louis School in Dorchester and alongside her husband and family cheesemaking at Pleasant View Co-op Dairy in Medford. She enjoyed cleaning, baking, stopping at garage sales and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her children’s eyes she was a saint among mothers. Adeline will be remembered as always putting everyone before herself with a smile and a twinkle in her eye.
Adeline is survived by two sons, John Stoiber of Dorchester and Robert Jr. (Jane) Stoiber of Curtiss; four daughters, Marjean Zoellick, Cheryl (Jerry) Vanlue, Mary (Larry) Cook and Theresa (Terry) Faude, all of Dorchester; six grandchildren, Kristi (Andy) Busscher of Marshfield, Rudy Zoellick of Abbotsford, Zachary (Megan) Zoellick and Reggie Vanlue of Dorchester, all of Dorchester, Courtney (Rory Brecke) Faude of Suamico and Jonathon (Shawna) Stoiber of Spencer. She is further survived by nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Alvin Gilbertson, Melvin Brushaber, Eugene (Helen) Brushaber and Henry (Marcella) Brushaber; sisters, Donna Brey, Roceda Neumann and Norine Bahr along with other relatives and friends.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Brushaber and Rose Gilbertson; step-father, Melvin Gilbertson; husband, Bob; son-in-law, Richard Londre; sisters, Arlene Brandner, Delores Draeger, Loretta Krug and Sandy Warzecha; and brother, Elmer Brushaber.
