Donna Jean Petersen Pack
1928 - 2018

Early Life: Donna was born July 3, 1928, in Brigham City, Utah, to Royes John Petersen and Elva Leone Bingham Petersen, the third of seven children. She grew up in Brigham City and graduated from Brigham High School where she was active in band and drama. She was in a dance band that performed all over northern Utah.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: She then went to Brigham Young University, where she majored in music. It was there that she met her eternal sweetheart, Merrill Raymond Pack, the son of Mercy Ethelin Lewis Pack and William Raymond Pack, of Kamas, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 10, 1949. They lived in New Brunswick, New Jersey; Las Cruces, New Mexico; Orem, Utah; and Pullman, Washington; before returning to Orem. Donna and Merrill were blessed with six children: Ramona (Lane) Kissell, Marilyn Bauder, Robert (Anona) Pack, Rebecca (Delbert) Mack, Valerie (Curtis) Swenson and Bradley (Lura) Pack. Donna’s first love was her family. Her many talents, which she shared freely, included sewing, molding and painting ceramics, music (especially playing the saxophone and accordion), and collecting stories and jokes. She was most well-known for her amazing flower garden, flower arrangements and bouquets, which she joyously and lovingly shared. Her favorite flower was “whichever one is blooming right now,” and in her garden, at least 20 varieties were always blooming! A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donna loved the Lord and served in all the auxiliaries. Perhaps her most interesting assignment was when she and Merrill served in the Ghana Accra Mission in 1987. But her most loved assignment was teaching her Mia Maids. Donna Jean Petersen Pack, of Orem, Utah, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. She lived an abundant and joyous life to the very end. She was 89.
Survived By: Her six children, 23 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Merrill; her parents; her brothers: Royes Jr. and Boyd Allen; her great-grandson, Zander; and her son-in-law, Lane.
