Irene was a devoted mother and grandmother and had a deep rooted faith. She was a wonderful seamstress and could create any design after learning to sew at age five. Marion was a builder and Irene helped design many of the houses that he built. She loved flowers and knew the names and categories of multitudes of flowers. Irene loved to visit with friends and family and excelled at making people feel welcome with good smells coming from the kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Iver and Sophie Okland, husband Marion Halvorson, grandsons Derek Easton and Thomas Halvorson, and sisters Eutenna Russ and Ian Mae Smith.
