Bobby J. Allen, 81, of Tipton, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at his home in Tipton.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. A memorial fund has been established.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa, with Military Honors.

Bobby Jean Allen was born March 4, 1937, in Mountain View, Arkansas, the son of Alex and Minnie (Calhoun) Allen. He attended school before enlisting and serving his country in the United States Navy. He married to Judy Kay Ford on May 13, 1964, in Rock Island, IL. Together they had five children; Jim, Ben, Sheila, Stacey and Steven. He was employed in the construction industry. He was also a logger and a truck driver for Pelling and Quad City Construction, before retiring from Sheller/Globe in 1999. He enjoyed reading, watching westerns, NFL Miami Dolphins, Nascar and the Chicago Cubs. He loved family gatherings and spending time and laughing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Judy of Tipton; two daughters, Sheila (Michael) Dirks of Mountain Home, AR, and Stacey (Stephanie) Allen of Pensacola, FL; three sons, Jim (Lisa) Allen of Tipton, Ben Allen (Christopher Calderan) of Rock Island, IL, and Steven (Mary Gault) Allen of Tipton; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, John Williams Allen, Charles Franklin Allen, Arlis Monroe Allen, Mearle L. Allen, Terral LaVern Allen, and Howard Lee Allen, two half-sisters, Hazel Bonita Little and Cora Mae Little and one half-brother, James Henry Little.
