Aidan A. Short, 17, of Mill Creek, IN, passed away Saturday as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on March 14, 2001, in LaPorte, IN, to Tim and Denise (Kottaridis) Short, who survive him. Also surviving are his two brothers, Brendan and Wesley Short; his paternal grandfather, Donald Short of Mill Creek; his maternal grandmother, Virginia Kottaridis of Merrillville, IN; and two Aunts, Christy (John) Haws of New Carlisle and Sharon (Ross) Sexter of Carmel, IN. Aidan was a student at St. Joseph High School, South Bend, where he was on the Varsity Baseball Team, an assistant athletic trainer and a member of the Yearbook staff. He was also a member of the South Bend Cubs travel baseball organization. But more than that, he was a joyful soul who lived to bring that joy to others, especially to children younger than himself. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. EST Tuesday April 3, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1050 Wilber St., South Bend, where a Parish Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. EST. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. EST Wednesday April 4, 2018 at Holy Cross Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM, immediately before Mass. Committal services will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek IN at 3 p.m. EST. Kaniewski Funeral Homes, South Bend, is handling the arrangements.
