Elvira "Vera" G. Chávez passed away peacefully on March 20, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM, at the age of 99.
Vera is survived by sisters, Maggie G. Chávez and Molly Kelley of Albuquerque.
Elvira was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Chávez, father, Serafin Griego Sr., mother, Celestina Sánchez Griego, brothers and sisters, Nick, Flora, Gilbert, Virginia, Efren, Serafin Jr., Irene and Alex.
The funeral Mass will be on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 901 Arizona SE, viewing at 9:00 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. Following, interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE. Rev. Hyginus Anuta, Deacon Ricardo Chávez and Rev. Tom Mayeffke will officiate the Mass. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vera's life.
