John Steven Bard, 57, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, after an illness. He was born Sept. 26, 1955, in Webb City, Mo., to the late Jack and Billie (Daniels) Bard. He was a lifelong Joplin resident. He was a skilled welder, mechanic and electrician and worked for several area companies throughout his life. John was a also a talented musician and enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He married Brenda Harper Oct. 10, 1974, in Joplin. She survives along with three children: daughter, Angee Tingle and her husband, Brandon; son, Bryan Bard and his wife, Crystal; and son, Blake Bard and his wife, Natalie, all of Webb City. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, Cail and Cooper Tingle; Kylee, Bryson and Zoey Bard; and Ayden and Brinkley Bard. Additional survivors include three sisters, Jan Thompson and her husband, RC, Savannah, Ga., Lynnette Gibson, Joplin, and Donna Asher and her husband, Robert, Fairland, Okla; and one brother, Gary Bard, of Joplin. Extended family: Ellyn Bard, Debbie Bard, Becky Bard, Kent Shanks and David Shipman. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob Bard and Charles Bard and two brothers-in-law, Fred Erdmann and Bob Gibson. He married Brenda Harper Oct. 10, 1974, in Joplin.
